Additional Services
The Wand
The Wand is a computer-assisted system for local anesthesia. It delivers anesthesia in a slow and controlled manner, therefore making the procedure more comfortable. It works great for kids, and for small restorations in adults.
CariVu Detection Device
The CariVu is a small detection device that uses transillumination (not radiation), to detect cavities and fractures in teeth. It does not take the place of X-rays, but is very helpful to us when we need to double check things in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
Ozone Therapy
Both doctors are certified ozone therapists. We can use it as a gas on teeth to kill bacteria that cause decay, or we can use it in water to help kill bacteria during deep dental cleanings or surgical extractions. Ozone has many wonderful uses.
Biocompatibility Testing
We recommend biocompatibility testing on patients that have multiple allergies and sensitivities, to assure us that we are choosing the best materials for them.
Safe Amalgam Removal
Both doctors are trained to remove amalgam fillings safely, and received their training from the IAOMT (International Academy of Medicine and Toxicology), and through Huggins-Grube Applied Healing.
SDF Treatments
SDF stand for Silver Diamine Fluoride, and it is an option that we have for small cavities. We use it as a topical only, spot treatment since it is very effective at arresting decay on contact. It works well for little ones that are too young to undergo sedation, or in adults, for small cavities in between teeth. It allows us to be minimally invasive…we don’t open the tooth unless we have to.
PRF Therapy
PRF stands for Platelet Rich Fibrin.
It is derived from the patient’s own blood, and it is rich in leukocytes, platelets, growth factors, and other substances that promote good bone healing after extractions. Pain is greatly decreased after extractions when a PRF clot is placed in the socket. And because it is taken from the patient’s own blood, it is completely biocompatible. Sometimes due to bone loss, we still have to use a bit of bone grafting material, but we have been able to greatly reduce our use of it due to PRF.
Dietary Counseling
If there is one thing that makes a big difference between healthy teeth and sick teeth other than hygiene, it is DIET. We enjoy counseling patients as to what anti-inflammatory foods are good for teeth and gums.
Kindness and Compassion
We use kindness and compassion quite a bit in our practice. We have found it useful in many circumstances. We have noticed that it reduces stress and blood pressure readings when patients are in the chair. Patients tend to recover faster and better when we use it, and it helps create an excellent working environment as well. Yes… this is meant to make you smile.
We would also like to share that we have strict sterilization protocols, and daily routines at our office to keep our dental instruments and equipment very clean. This is very important to us for the safety of our patients, ourselves, and our very own families whom we treat here.
Financials and Insurance
You are welcome at our practice whether you have insurance or not.
Options for payment:
- Cash
- All major credit cards
- Financing options through CareCredit
Payment is due at the time service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If your insurance covers dental treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Remember that insurance policies vary widely, and we will review your insurance to determine the appropriate course of action. As a courtesy to our patients, we will file insurance claims on your behalf.
If you are not sure what insurance you have, give us a call and we can help you sort it out. (210 344-2384) Please remember that dental insurance is more like a dental discount plan and, unlike medical insurance, typically covers only a small portion of treatment costs, if any. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.
Our fees are very reasonable, and we will file your claim for you. We also provide you with financial estimates before treatment is started, so you can feel at ease about the cost of dental work.
Call us, and we will try to answer your questions as best as we can.
